Hartford-based ProPark Mobility has won a public contract to operate seven downtown parking garages.
Board members of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) on Thursday voted to award the five-year contract, which totals nearly 7,700 parking spots, to ProPark.
The garages covered by the contract include the Connecticut Convention Center and three other facilities in Adriaen’s Landing the Morgan and Church street garages and soon-to-be-opened Bushnell South garage.
ProPark, which has already been operating the Church Street garage adjacent to the XL Center, bested three other final bidders, including Hartford-based competitor LAZ Parking, which had previously held the contract for the Adriaen’s Landing facilities and the 3,683 total parking spaces they contain.

“As Connecticut recovers, it’s clear that an investment needs to be made to ensure that our businesses can survive, that they can grow and that all members of society can access development opportunities throughout our state,” said state budget chief Melissa McCaw, who recently outlined Gov. Ned Lamont’s proposal for deploying the stimulus funds.
