The violent criminal who tortured and then killed the family of three and a housekeeper is identified. His name is 34-year-old Daron Dylon Wint. He is charged with first-degree murder while armed.
Savvas Savopoulos, 46; Amy Savopoulos, 47; their son, Philip; and housekeeper Veralicia Figueroa, 57, were found dead on the second floor of their burning home in northwest Washington May 14. The home is located in an upscale area just north of Vice President Joe Biden’s official residence on the grounds of the U.S. Naval Observatory.
The family’s two older daughters were not at home at the time of the fire, as they both attend elite boarding schools. Abigail, 19, is a senior at the elite Mercersburg Academy in Pennsylvania. Katerina, 16, is a junior at Peddie School in Highstown, New Jersey.

A total of five people were shot in the 1300 block of Congress Street SE in the Congress Heights neighborhood. Members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 25-year-old Tarik Turner of Southeast D.C. and charged him with second degree murder while armed in the shooting death of Ferguson.
Police say a domestic dispute ended in a deadly triple shooting and fire in Southeast D.C. Monday night. On Friday, the suspect was arrested and charged with two counts of murder.
The Metropolitan Police Department announced early Friday that 32-year-old Keanan Christopher Turner of Forestville, Maryland, had been named as a suspect in the crimes, and an arrest warrant was issued by the D.C. Superior Court.
Members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, the United States Marshals Special Operations Group and the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Turner later that day.
On Saturday, D.C. Police said Turner was charged with two counts of first-degree murder while armed (premeditated) and assault with intent to kill while armed.

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - U.S Marshals and Norfolk police are asking for the publicâs help in finding a man suspected in the fatal shooting of a mother and her daughter.
Alicia Hereford, 52, and Morgan Bazemore, 23, were shot about midnight Friday near the Huntersville Community Center in Norfolk.
In a news release Saturday, the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force of the U.S. Marshals Service said Kenyatta Ferrell Jones, 27, has been charged with two counts each of second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
