Key Highlights
Under the Obama Administration, the US and Russia inked the 10-year New START on February 5, 2011, mutually agreeing to include a provision for a five-year extension
As per the legally binding treaty, both sides are required to limit their strategic nuclear warhead numbers to 1,550 across 700 strategic delivery systems (that include ICBMs, SLBMs and heavy bombers)
