Pakistan on Path to Become a Global Economic Hub: SAPM
Pakistan is on a path to become a global economic hub and aims to become a melting pot of competing global economic interests, said SAPM on National Security Division and Strategic Policy Planning, Dr. Moeed Yusuf.
He was chairing the 8th Advisory Board Meeting of the National Security Committee. Dr. Yusuf said that under the economic security model, instead of the conventional geostrategic lens, Pakistan aims to leverage its geo-economic position by partnering with the world. “We are looking for economic partnerships and provide avenues for investment,” he said.
Talking about the regional connectivity, the SAPM said that Pakistan, because of its geo-economic location, has the potential to serve as a regional pivot and become a hub of trade and economic activities. “Pakistan’s vision of connectivity and economic security will bring dividends to the region and the partners,” said Dr. Moeed Yusuf.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on National Security Division and Strategic Policy Planning Dr. Moeed Yusuf chaired a Session of Pakistan-Afghanistan Track-II Dialogue where the peace process in Afghanistan was discussed.
An Afghan delegation arrived in Islamabad amidst signs of improving relations between the two Countries.
Chairing the Session, Dr. Moeed said that Pakistan and Afghanistan are neighboring Countries with shared interests. He said that Pakistan has an unwavering belief that economic prosperity for both nations is interlinked.
Dr. Moeed affirmed Pakistan’s support for an economically thriving Afghanistan and reiterated Prime Minister Imran Khan’s belief that there is no military solution to the conflict in Afghanistan.

India-Pak spat over ‘firing on UN vehicle’, ‘surgical strikes’
JAMMU/NEW DELHI, Dec 19: Pakistan on Saturday violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Kirni and Malti sectors of Poonch district. Pakistan violates ceasefire by firing with small arms and shelling with mortars along LoC in Kirni and Malti sectors in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, said the Indian Army in an official statement.
On Friday, Pakistan had violated the ceasefire in Mendhar and Balakote sectors of Poonch.
Meanwhile, Pakistan claimed that Indian soldiers had fired at the United Nations vehicle that was carrying the observers on their way to meet victims of firing along the Line of Control, according to new agencies.
Srinagar: Pakistan on Friday alleged India’s “plans to attempt surgical strikes” against it.
Moeed W Yusuf Special Assistant to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on National Security Division and Strategic Policy Planning quoted on Twitter the country’s Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi making the allegations against India.
Qureshi, as per Moeed, said at a press conference in the UAE that the country had “very specific and reliable intelligence of India’s plans to attempt surgical strikes against Pakistan”.
“We know that India is deeply unnerved because its acts of aggression against Pakistan through state sponsored terrorism and blatant disinformation based propaganda have been exposed,” wrote Moeed.

ABU DHABI: Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi has revealed that India is planning a surgical strike against Pakistan and warned New Delhi that Islamabad was respond effectively.
Addressing a press conference UAE s capital, FM Qureshi said he had received information through our intelligence agencies that India was preparing to launch a surgical strike against Pakistan and fanning a new wave of terrorism.
Terming the situation as sensitive, he said Pakistan was fully aware of India s conspiracies and vowed that Islamabad would respond befittingly should New Delhi initiate military action.
