BIG RAPIDS TWP., Mich. â A car crash in Big Rapids Township Saturday afternoon sent one woman to the hospital.
Officers from the Mecosta County Sheriff s Office were dispatched just after 4 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 215th Avenue and Perry Avenue in Big Rapids Twp.
A 83-year-old woman was a passenger in a Chevrolet Equinox, which was rear-ended by a Chevrolet HHR at the intersection.

The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a woman who’s accused of abandoning her children and taking off to Florida with a man from Grand Rapids.
According to the report, one of her daughters told her the man was taking pictures of her in the shower.
Police say the woman from Aetna Township abandoned both of her daughters in Indiana.
Sheriff Miller says the girls are now safe and back in Michigan.
The Grand Rapids man is on probation, and there’s a warrant out for his arrest.
The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office is working with Child Protective Services and law enforcement in Florida to find the girls’ mother and the man she’s with.

MECOSTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. â An 18-year-old woman was taken to the hospital after her vehicle flipped near the intersection of Northland Dr. and Filmore St. around 11:40 p.m. Friday night.
Mecosta County Sheriff s deputies found the vehicle overturned, which was caused by both passenger side tires coming off the vehicle.
The driver, a Newaygo County resident, was taken to Spectrum Health Big Rapids, where they are expected to be ok.
The Mecosta County Sheriff s Office was helped by Mecosta Township Fire along with Mecosta E.M.S.

Multiple warrants out for suspect in Newaygo Co.

NEWAYGO, Mich. â Owen James Curtice, a Fremont resident, is on the run with multiple warrants for his arrest.
On Friday, Newaygo County Sheriff s deputies tried to pull over his vehicle, leading to a high-speed chase.
Curtice s vehicle crashed on Newcosta near 2 Mile Rd, prompting him to get out and run away on foot.
While K9 s were brought in, deputies were unable to locate the suspect.

Missing 12-year-old boy found in Fork Township

FORK TOWNSHIP, Mich. â The Mecosta County Sheriffâs Office requires assistance in locating a missing 12-year-old boy in Fork Township.
Police say Adolfo Vera left home Wednesday evening. He is described as a 4â4â Hispanic male weighing 80lbs. He was last seen dressed in a yellow shirt, black pants and dark-colored coat.
Weâre told Vera is not believed to be a victim of crime.
Those with information in connection to his whereabouts are asked to call Meceola Central Dispatch at 231-796-4811.
UPDATE: Police say Vera has been found. We re told he was hiding from his parents inside a building.
