One county moves into green as state reports 1,151 new COVID-19 cases, 13 additional deaths

Harding County moved to green level after meeting both of the state’s metrics on the number of cases per 100,000 residents and the percentage of positive COVID-19 tests, while Union County’s positivity rate met the metric but the overall number of cases did not, so it is in the yellow level. The state updates the level of restrictions every other Wednesday. Also on Wednesday, the state Department of Health reported 1,151 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday and 13 additional deaths related to the disease.

Bernalillo County had the most newly reported cases on Monday, with 261. Doña Ana County was the only other county with 100 or more cases, with 102. DOH also reported six new cases among inmates held by the state Department of Corrections. On Monday, the department reported 704 individuals were hospitalized for COVID-19, an increase of 22 people since Sunday. This could include those from other states who are hospitalized in New Mexico, but would not include New Mexicans who are hospitalized out of state.

Andy Lyman The number of new COVID-19 cases in New Mexico continued to grow on Thursday, when the state Department of Health reported 1,841 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday and 39 additional deaths related to the disease. The seven-day average number of cases, according to calculations by the Albuquerque Journal, rose to 1,280. The one-day number was the highest since Christmas Eve, Dec. 24. Bernalillo County had the most newly reported cases on Thursday, with 449. Five other counties had 100 or more newly reported cases: San Juan County (231), Sandoval County (143), Eddy County (131), Santa Fe County (131) and Doña Ana County (117). DOH also reported 17 new cases among inmates held by the state Department of Corrections.

January 5, 2021 The state Department of Health reported 1,201 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday and 20 additional deaths related to the disease. Bernalillo County had the most newly reported cases on Tuesday, with 484. Two other counties had 100 or more newly reported cases: Doña Ana County with 117 and San Juan County with 104. On Tuesday, the department reported 740 individuals were hospitalized for COVID-19, an increase of 37 people since Monday. This could include those from other states who are hospitalized in New Mexico, but would not include New Mexicans who are hospitalized out of state. DOH provided some information on each of the 20 newly reported deaths.
