COVID-19 outlook improves for much of New Mexico

Still Red: Luna County lagging in response to COVID-19 positive tests

SANTA FE – Luna County is one of three counties that saw an increase in COVID-19 positivity tests this week. The two other counties are Lincoln and Taos. The increase is based on per-capita tests for each county determined by positivity for population. Luna County is currently as a 15.71 percent positivity rate and must come down to under 5 percent to leave the Red restrictions.  The New Mexico Department of Health on Wednesday announced the updated statewide COVID-19 map for the two-week period beginning Jan. 27, with seven New Mexico counties at the Yellow Level and one at the Green Level, reflecting an improving overall COVID-19 outlook for the state.
