The job posting for a new executive director at the National Hispanic Cultural Center is up. It’s been nearly two weeks since former director Josefa Gonzalez Mariscal resigned on April 7, after 11 months in the position. The New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs posted on its website as well as others sites for interested candidates. The center has had nearly a dozen leaders in its 20-year history.

National Hispanic Cultural Center Seeks Executive Director NHCC News: ALBUQUERQUE The National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) in Albuquerque is searching for its next executive director. As the administrative and executive officer of the Center, the position requires a seasoned administrator with a record of successful leadership of a multidisciplinary organization, ability for oversite of a professional staff, and experience working collaboratively with boards such as the National Hispanic Cultural Center Board of Directors and the National Hispanic Cultural Center Foundation. The position is appointed by the Governor. A division of the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA), the NHCC’s mission is the preservation, promotion, and advancement of Hispanic culture, arts, and humanities. The mural was set to be retired by the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs in preparation for the new Vladem Contemporary Art Museum, but the mural’s future isn’t dead yet. ...................... City ready to mark 315 years with celebration

The Department of Arts & Culture has teamed up with local businesses and artists to commemorate Albuquerque’s birthday from April 10 through April 25. A virtual performance by Albuquerque musician Lara Manzanares will be part of Albuquerque’s 315th birthday celebration.
