More than 20 million Americans are eagerly anticipating a $300 boost to their weekly unemployment benefits.
But it s unclear when exactly that cash will hit workers bank accounts.
Labor officials in several states including California, Michigan, New Mexico, Texas and Utah say they need input from the U.S. Department of Labor on how to implement and disburse the payments.

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Human Services Department (HSD) is partnering with the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) to provide services to Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) participants who qualify for the New Mexico Works employment programs, Career Link and Wage Subsidy. These two programs provide employment opportunities to TANF participants that will give them the work experience needed to obtain full time unsubsidized employment.
“This collaboration is designed to combine the expertise of each agency to strengthen and improve the workforce by matching unemployed New Mexicans with employers who need to hire and retain skilled workers,” said Human Services Secretary David Scrase, M.D.

New Mexico Economic Development Department Releases Latest Economic Data For All 33 Counties

SANTA FE The Economic Development Department has published the most recent series of county economic reports with detailed economic and employment data for all of the 33 counties as well as a statewide snapshot, Cabinet Secretary Alicia J. Keyes said Friday.
The reports with a December 2020 publication date cover the first quarter of the 2021 fiscal year – July, August, and September 2020 – during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
“This community-level data, delivered in a timely and readable format, is proving valuable to small business owners, lawmakers, and local officials as they quantify the impacts of the pandemic on county economic activity,” Cabinet Secretary Keyes said. “These reports are just the beginning of an initiative to support all of our communities, big and small, as we work toward economic recovery.”
