Officials: 911 service won’t be impacted during power outage at Mesilla dispatch LAS CRUCES, New Mexico – The Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority has a planned power outage scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 10. The outage will be from 8 a.m. to about 10 a.m. It is required to connect newly installed solar panels to the power grid. During the outage, 911 telephone lines will be transferred to the New Mexico State Police District 4 Communications Center in Las Cruces. Emergency dispatch services are not expected to be affected. The non-emergency number and administrative office numbers will not be in service during the outage. The Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority is the 911 center for Las Cruces, Sunland Park, Mesilla, Hatch, Anthony and Dona Ana County.

The power outage is required in order to connect newly installed solar panels to the power grid. The solar panel installation is being coordinated by the Doña Ana County Facilities Department. The power outage will begin at 8 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 10 and will last approximately two hours. During this time, all 911 telephone lines will be transferred to the New Mexico State Police District-4 Communications Center in Las Cruces. The non-emergency telephone number, 575-526-0795 and the administrative offices telephone numbers 575-646-6800 through 575-647-6855 will not be in service during the power outage.

By News Editor And Partners • Dec 10, 2020 The Las Cruces Fire Department has received notification that it will maintain its Insurance Services Office Public Protection Classification 1 Rating for at least another four years. On Thursday, Dec. 10, Las Cruces Fire learned that its ISO Public Protection Class 1 Rating would remain in effect for the City of Las Cruces. The City of Las Cruces first earned the recognition in 2015. The Class 1 rating places Las Cruces in the top 10 percent of more than 39,000 fire departments rated by ISO and allows for lower property insurance rates for home and business owners within city limits. In December 2019, the ISO began its performance re-evaluation of the Las Cruces Fire Department, the Las Cruces Utilities and Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority. The evaluation examines several areas within each of the three categories. The fire department’s score is worth 50 percent of the total points. The City’s water su
