Detectives investigate shooting death in Adams County Richard Cote Replay Video UP NEXT Detectives with the Adams County Sheriff s Office (ACSO) are investigating an overnight shooting death that happened in the 6200 block of Federal Boulevard.  Deputies responded to a mobile home at about 4:37 a.m. Tuesday, according to a release from ACSO. Upon arrival, deputies found a woman who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest, according to the release. Detectives interviewed witnesses, neighbors and others about the shooting, ACSO said. The investigation is currently ongoing. Sheriff Richard Reigenborn is expected to release more information Tuesday, according to the release.

The Denver Police Department (DPD) said the shooting happened in the 1000 block of South Parker Road around 11 a.m. on April 11. That s near the intersection with South Quebec Street near the Washington Virginia Vale neighborhood. One person was taken into custody after the shooting, DPD said. The identity of the person in custody has not yet been released. On Wednesday, the Denver Medical Examiner s Office identified the victim as 26-year-old Darren Puckett. He died from multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the coroner.

Michael Jefferson faces charges of first-degree murder, felony murder and kidnapping in the death of Roger Dean, who was 51 when he died on Nov. 21, 1985. Douglas County Sheriff Tony Spurlock said Dean was apparently being robbed at his home when he was killed during a scuffle inside the home. Dean was shot five times and died en route to a hospital.
