Man injured in drive-by shooting, Thornton police say

The Thornton Police Department (TPD) said it is investigating a shooting Friday morning in which a suspect pulled up their vehicle alongside another and fired into the victim s vehicle. The shooting occurred in the 4500 block of East 104th Avenue, which is just east of the intersection of 104th and Colorado Boulevard. The suspect vehicle, which police identified as a black Dodge pickup with a male driver and female passenger, pulled up alongside the victim s vehicle. An occupant of the suspect vehicle fired one shot into victim s vehicle, police said. The suspect vehicle then made a U-turn and went west on 104th Avenue. The suspects were still at-large, police said.

Denver Police (DPD) announced Tuesday that they arrested Janel Gallegos, 24, and Andrew Abeyta, 25, for investigation of first-degree murder. Gallegos was arrested on Dec. 11 and Abeyta was taken into custody several days later, on Dec. 14. Documents related to their arrests are sealed, according to police. A booking photo of Abeyta is not available at this time.

A Littleton man has been arrested after police said he asked teenage girls for sexual acts in exchange for money and alcohol. Wilmer Alverto-Andrade, 26, was arrested at his home on Thursday, according to a release from the Edgewater Police Department (EPD). Police said Alverto-Andrade met two teenage girls from Jefferson High School and gave them alcohol during one of those meetings. He continued talking to them through an electronic device after those meetings, police said.

1 taken to hospital after hit-and-run, Denver Police investigating Wilson Beese Replay Video One person was taken to the hospital after a hit-and-run Friday morning, Denver Police Department (DPD) said. DPD said officers responded around 7:20 a.m. to a reported hit-and-run with serious injuries at the intersection of West Florida Avenue and South Platte River Drive. According to DPD, one vehicle crashed into another and left the scene. One person was taken to the hospital, and their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, according to DPD. DPD said there was not any immediate information available on the suspect vehicle. South Platte was closed at West Florida while officers investigated. The road was back open as of 10 a.m., DPD said.
