+ February 19, 2021 THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and NLEX Corporation formally opened on February 19 the newly completed 8.2-kilometer Subic Freeport Expressway (SFEX) expansion.
The P1.6-billion new expressway project was constructed despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in response to the need to accelerate business activities and facilitate the flow of goods and services between the economic zones in Clark and Subic.

The two main bridge pylons of the 8.5-kilometer Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) have been completed.
“We finished over the weekend the concreting of the pylon on the side of Cebu City,” Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway Corp. (CCLEC) said in a construction update on Wednesday.
The company said Tower 1 has reached its final height at 145 meters, which means the two main bridge pylons are now finished.
Installation of the cross on top of the pylons of the CCLEX’s main bridge had already started.
A 40-meter cross visible on four sides of Tower 1 symbolizes Cebu’s significant role as the cradle of Christianity.

THE Cavite provincial government is once again inviting firms to submit joint venture proposals for the Sangley international airport project, less than a month after it canceled an earlier deal with MacroAsia Corp. and China Communications Construction Company (CCCC).
In an announcement published on Monday, the Cavite government said the project feasibility study including schedules and updates, instructions to candidate joint venture partners, and the draft joint venture and development agreement will be available for distribution to interested parties from Mach 1 to March 30.
Interested parties should first submit an intent letter, sign the nondisclosure agreement, and pay the non-refundable participation fee of P1 million or $20,000 before they could obtain copies of the bid documents from the Cavite government, which serves as the implementing agency for the project.

+ February 02, 2021 THE 18 fisherfolk organizations in the town of Cordova, Cebu have new motorbancas they can use, materials of which were provided by the Cebu Cordova Link Expressway Corp. (CCLEC) as part of its corporate social responsibility program.
Aside from fishing, Cordova Mayor Mary Therese Sitoy-Cho said the 18 motorbancas can be used to ferry visitors to the town’s various tourist spots.
