DUI Checkpoint On Tap For Manchester To Begin Holiday Weekend Patch 1 hr ago © Chris Dehnel/Patch A sobriety checkpoint is slated in Manchester to begin the long weekend. MANCHESTER, CT Authorities will be out in force looking for drunken drivers to kick off the long Memorial Day weekend. The Manchester Police Department in conjunction with Metro Traffic Services have scheduled a sobriety checkpoint for Friday. The checkpoint will be set up on Buckland Street near Tolland Turnpike. Both northbound and southbound traffic will be stopped from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. The checkpoint is part of a Federal Highway Safety Grant that is coordinated by the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
