Hospital staff working on the frontline treating coronavirus say receiving the vaccine is the best thing to happen in 2020.

Vulnerable patients and staff at high risk of catching the virus are the first to receive the Pfizer vaccine â the first and so far only approved jab to be rolled out to the public in the fight against Covid-19.

The mass rollout of coronvirus vaccinations in Kent has been described as a marathon rather than a sprint as greater capacity is forecast for January.
UK health workers have started immunising patients as the Pfizer/BioNTech Covid jab will be administered from at least 18 GP surgeries across the county by Saturday.

Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Group s (CCG) primary care group, which oversees the county s 200 GPs, met earlier today and described the news as brilliant but downplayed the expectations of 1.8 million residents.

Dermatology failings at DMC Healthcare in Medway, Gravesend, Dartford and Sheppey

Councillors fear the full human cost from failings of a dermatology service may not be fully understood until a harm review is completed.
Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is currently scrutinising the actions of DMC Healthcare.
Dermatology treatment
The south London-based company had responsibility for treating skin disorders across north Kent for a year-and-a-half before it was taken away from them.
There was a backlog involving patients who required urgent attention â including those for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
The CCG has previously apologised for the delays which exposed people to the risk of harm .
