Social media and music go hand-in-hand, but until today, Spotify and Facebook didn t. However, the two firms have now teamed up for a new miniplayer experience driven by discovery. Discovery that allows listeners to enjoy audio from Spotify directly within Facebook, without switching between apps, according to a Spotify announcement.
Spotify Premium members in select markets can now listen to songs and podcasts inside the iOS and Android Facebook app. Spotify Free users can also tap into the new feature via shuffle mode (with accompanying ads from Spotify, of course).

Apple (
AAPL) - Get Report unveiled sweeping plans on Monday to invest more than $430 billion in the U.S. and create more than 20,000 new jobs over the next five years as part of its push to be less reliant on global chains.
The Cupertino, Calif.-based tech giant said it plans to accelerate its U.S. investments by growing its teams and adding to its production and infrastructure focused on next-generation silicon development and 5G innovation across nine U.S. states, including California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Texas, Washington and Iowa.
It also is spending more than $1 billion to create a new East Coast campus in North Carolina. The commitment is roughly 20% higher than the company’s original five-year goal of $350 billion that it set in 2018, Apple said in a statement.

Apple (
AAPL) - Get Report reportedly is preparing a major revamp of its mobile software that will include an upgrade to how users handle notifications, a redesigned iPad home screen, an updated lock screen, and additional privacy protections for its flagship devices.
Citing people with knowledge of the matter, Bloomberg reported Thursday that the in-development changes are planned to be included in major iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 software updates for the iPhone and iPad.
Cupertino, California-based Apple will announce the software updates - codenamed Sky - at its upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference beginning June 7, according to Bloomberg.
The iPad line, which gained new iPad Pro models earlier this week, will also see software changes, including a more flexible way to add widgets - miniature apps that can display the weather, appointments, and other data - anywhere on the home screen. Users will also be able to replace the entire app grid with only widgets.

As Reuters reports, the LotR MMO has been in development as a joint venture between Amazon Game Studios and Chinese video game holding company Leyou Technologies Holdings. In December last year, Tencent acquired Leyou, and that s ultimately what caused development to cease.
