vaccine arrived in the city on Tuesday. The consignment of Covishield vaccine manufactured by the
Serum Institute of India arrived from Pune in a
SpiceJet aircraft.
The aircraft carrying 54 boxes of the vaccine, consisting of approximately 6.48 lakh doses arrived at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) at 11.45 am.
The vaccines were offloaded from the aircraft and then brought to the Menzies Aviation Bobba (Bangalore) Pvt. Ltd and then loaded on to a truck which transported it to the government storage facility near Anand Rao circle.
From the state and regional vaccination stores, the vaccines will be further distributed to district, taluk and booth level centres by road with mobile walk-in freezers.
