Man in head-on crash dies An Erie man who was involved in a head-on crash on S. Telegraph Rd. early Saturday morning has died. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim as Tyler White. He was pronounced dead at a hospital Saturday afternoon. The other driver, a 26-year-old woman who was operating a 2014 Ford Mustang, was driving in the opposite lane while passing another vehicle when the crash occurred. She remains hospitalized in fair condition. She apparently has improved after initially being reported in critical condition. The sheriff’s department is withholding her identity pending further investigation and potential criminal charges being filed by the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office.

Two critical following head-on Telegraph Road crash ERIE – Two people remained in critical condition this morning following a head-on accident on S. Telegraph Rd. in Erie Township. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reported the collision occurred shortly before 2 a.m. on Telegraph north of Minx Rd. in Erie. The early investigation showed that excessive speed and intoxicants appear to be factors in the accident. According to a press release, a 2014 Ford Mustang, driven by a 26-year-old woman, was being driven southbound in the northbound lane. The woman was reportedly in the process of passing a vehicle. Deputies reported said during the pass, the Mustang collided head-on with a 2014 Ford Fusion, driven by a 23-year-old Erie man. After the initial crash, the Fusion was struck by two other vehicles, a Ford Freestyle and a 2016 Jeep Cherokee.
