As I surmised (or at least hope) the 2021 MacBook Air will come in different colors like the 2021 iMac, according to Apple leaker Jon Prosser. This means they would be offered in green, yellow, blue, orange, pink, purple, and silver.
Currently, you can get the MacBook Air in space gray, gold, or silver. You can get the 13-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro in space grey or silver.
I suspect that the MacBook Pro and new 27-inch (if not bigger) iMac (or iMac Pro) will still come in space grey and silver only to give them a more “pro” appearance (though I hope I’m wrong).

It didn t come as much of a surprise but it did add a certain tinge of legitimacy when leaker Jon Prosser today said that Apple is working to bring some color to the next MacBook Air. Similar to the recent iMac refresh, it s thought the next MacBook Air will also be offered in multiple bright colors. And I can t quite decide how I feel about it.
On the face of it, it s impossible not to have nostalgia kick in at the idea of multi-colored Macs of all shapes and sizes. People being able to choose a Mac that suits their style is never a bad thing because, for some, Gold-ish, Space Gray, and Silver just don t cut the mustard. If anything I can understand a personalized MacBook Air more than I can an iMac. Yet, there are concerns.
Why not allow both Macs and Windows PCs?
As part of our research, we spoke to many 1:1 laptop schools. We were advised repeatedly, based on other schools’ experiences, to select one consistent computing platform to ensure program success for clear reasons:
We need to be able to provide quality technical support with limited human resources and maintain a secure computing environment. It is more difficult and expensive to maintain the expertise needed to troubleshoot problems on several different types of computers and operating systems.
One consistent computing platform also provides one consistent software platform. Not all software has the same features across the Windows and Mac versions. Interlochen arts programs use a great deal of discipline-specific software that is not web (cloud) based, and some works exclusively on the Mac (music, visual arts, film).
