Man stabbed outside Mansfield Area Y after argument
He was taken to a local hospital and his condition was not immediately available.
A 21-year-old man is in custody, according to Capt. Shari Robertson. A statement was made to us that some type of altercation occurred inside, some type of argument, Robertson said. Came outside, and he was stabbed outside the building. This was an isolated incident and initial indications are that an online argument and/or posts led to the altercation which resulted in the victim being stabbed, Robertson later said in a news release.
Around 1:30 p.m., detectives could be seen entering and exiting the building on Scholl Road.

The Mansfield Division of Police responded to a “shots fired” call in the area of Johns Park Sunday evening April 4th, 2021 at approximately 7:31PM. Once in the area, officers on patrol heard a single gunshot coming from the area of Louise Avenue. As officers approached that location, they observed a Black male subject, jump from a porch and run to a red Jeep at which time the vehicle fled the wrong way on Louise Avenue at a high rate of speed. Officers activated emergency lights and sirens and engaged the Jeep in a short vehicle pursuit which ended after the driver fled southbound on foot towards 361 W. Longview Avenue, where he hopped multiple barbed wire fences in an effort to allude the officers. During the foot chase, the offender was observed to be in possession of a handgun. POLICE: The Mansfield Division of Police had 78 sworn officers and 36 civilian employees by December of 2020. 3 officers retired, 1 officer was reinstated, and 3 officers resigned. 35 citizen compliments for outstanding work in the community were received. The Police Department handled 31,960 calls for service. Officers arrested 2,939 persons. Part 1 crime decreased by 16.5% overall as compared to 2019. It was noted that burglary offenses were drastically decreased by 27.2% and auto theft offenses were decreased by 10.5%. The Detective Bureau’s Domestic Violence Officer was assigned 377 cases.
