3 ex-NPA rebels in Lanao del Norte get cash assistance under E-CLIP

LANAO DEL NORTE, May 10 Through the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), three former rebels (FRs) received financial and livelihood assistance, and financial remuneration of surrendered firearms during a turnover ceremony held recently in Kapatagan Municipal Hall. The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)–Lanao del Norte released financial benefits to the FRs for firearms remuneration worth P346,000.00, and each one received a P15,000.00 as immediate financial assistance and P50,000.00 as Livelihood Assistance. Mayor Barry Y. Baguio hosted the ceremony and was instrumental to the surfacing of the former rebels as well as in giving locally-driven assistance to the former rebels. He emphasized that his administration s determination to support the program in order that there will be lasting peace and development in his jurisdiction.

The signing of the Memorandum of Agreement was made between 86IB, PA Civil Military Operations Officer 2Lt. Judily Ann Bugante, DOST - Isabela head Lucio Calimag and Jones Mayor Leticia Sebastian. Under the agreement, the three signatories will be helping former rebels and the residents in conflict affected areas in the municipality of Jones.

DSWD provides P380,000-livelihood aid to former rebels in Antique – Manila Bulletin

Published May 5, 2021, 7:13 PM The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has provided livelihood grants amounting to P380,000 to 19 former rebels in Antique to help them reintegrate back into normal society. The DSWD said each rebel, who returned to the folds of the law in 2020, has received P20,000 under the agency’s Livelihood Settlement Grants (LSG). DSWD “The grants amounting to P380,000 at P20,000 each, will enable the former rebels to engage in livelihood enterprises, such as livestock production, merchandising/retail/wholesale and fishing,” it said in a statement. “The FRs (former rebels) submitted their project proposals to the Department which were assessed and provided with corresponding budget allocation.”

20 ex-NPA leaders vow to live renewed, peaceful lives

MALAYBALAY CITY, May 3 Twenty former high ranking leaders of the New People’s Army (NPA) and members of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) pledged to live peaceful lives and help the government’s peace and development efforts. This was after the former communist guerrillas recently completed the 15-day ‘Deradicalization Training Batch 1-2021’ which aims to prevent them from being lured by communist ideologies again. Former NPA leader Armando Daluniag, also known as “Ambo” led the group along with the former rebels’ Guerilla Front Deputy Secretary, Commanding Officers of Front Operational Command, Political Instructors, Squad Leaders, Platoon Medics, as well as members of White Area Committees (WACOM).
