Master Gunnery Sergeant Ryan R. Glau On April 28, 2021, the Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Marine Corps Detachment held a retirement ceremony for Master Gunnery Sergeant Ryan R. Glau at the EOD Memorial wall, marking the close of a 24-year career of service in the United States Marine Corps. At the ceremony, he was awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal. The citation included recognition of his exceptional leadership, extensive military knowledge, and untiring dedication to duty. The Marine Corps Detachment presented Glau with a United States Flag flown over the Joint Service EOD memorial. In a letter presented at the ceremony, President Donald J. Trump extended his personal thanks and appreciation for Master Gunnery Sergeant Glau’s honorable service to the country.

7 (FARKE AIRFIELD, Albania) - If there is someone who knows a thing about hard work and determination, it’s 2nd Lt. Valdeta Mehanja, a pilot with the 1-131st Aviation Regiment. Mehanja is an Albanian native born in Kosovo and a US citizen; she never thought she would get to see Albania. “I have never visited Albania before. It’s an incredible feeling to be here, as a pilot, in uniform and in the U.S. Military,” said Mehanja. “I would have never gotten this opportunity to fly around Albania if it wasn’t for the military. To be able to experience this just made me so happy.”

Latter-Day Saints Helping Around The World Monday, May 24, 2021 Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including those in the greater Chattanooga area, are helping to alleviate suffering at home and abroad.   Most recently, the Church has sent medical supplies and oxygen to hospitals throughout Brazil and “enough food to feed about one million Brazilians,” officials said.  In meetings with Governor Eduardo Leite of Rio Grande do Sul and Mayor Bruno Reis of Salvador, the capital of Brazil’s state of Bahia, each expressed thanks for Church efforts. Governor Leite said, “I know that the first role of the Church is to relieve sad hearts, to carry a message of hope and faith.  I respect and admire your Church.”
