CAMP COL. RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – Police and Army manning a checkpoint intercepted two motorcycles allegedly loaded with explosives and food supplies intended for the New People’s Army (NPA) in Barangay Poblacion 2, Santiago, Agusan del Norte on Holy Wednesday, March 31, police reported Monday.
Two persons driving the two motorcycles were arrested. Their identities were temporarily withheld while tactical investigation is still ongoing at the Santiago Municipal Police Station (MPS).
Seized from the suspects, said Caraga Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) director Police Brig. Gen. Romeo M. Caramat Jr., were 15 meters of detonating cord, one pipe bomb-type Improvised Explosive Device, and other bomb-making materials, including two magazines for 5.56 mm loaded with live ammunition, 33 rounds of caliber 5.56 live ammunition, and several assorted goods and food supplies.

Bijapur (Chhattisgarh) [India], April 3 (ANI): The 85 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Saturday neutralised an 8-kg IED, planted by Naxals, in a controlled explosion in a forest in Bijapur.
The Improvised explosive device (IED) was found in Modipara, near Cherpal in Chhattisgarh.
In another incident, five security personnel died and around 10 others injured in an encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh s Bijapur district on Saturday.

ITBP recovers IEDs in Chhattisgarh s Rajnandgaon ANI | Updated: Apr 01, 2021 16:19 IST
Rajnandgaon (Chhattisgarh) [India], April 1 (ANI): The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) unearthed and destroyed twin Improvised Explosive Device (IEDs) in Chhattisgarh s Rajnandgaon district on Thursday. During a search operation, twin IEDs 15 kg and 5 kg unearthed and destroyed on the spot by 40th Battalion ITBP near Bakarkatta in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh today, according to an official statement.
The IEDs were planted probably to target the security forces as in recent times, many IED attacks have been the main modus operandi of the Naxals in Chhattisgarh, it added.
On March 23, three District Reserve Guard (DRG) jawans and one police personnel lost their lives in an IED blast by Naxals in Narayanpur. (ANI)
