Like soldiers rushing into combat, they will continue into an immersive World War I Trench Experience in which one of the few surviving M1917 6-ton tanks built in the U.S. leads an American-led force into battle. Welcome to a history lesson about courage, freedom and the military s role in protecting democracy with 40-ton tanks as teaching aids. Visitors will walk through a 67,000 square foot building in which gargantuan armored vehicles - and a captured Iraqi SCUD missile and other rare military artifacts – offer vital lessons about history too often misconstrued in the hot gas of political rhetoric.

Brandon Long Honored with Mobility-Equipped Ford F150

Brandon Long Honored with Mobility-Equipped Ford F150 Brandon Long, USMC (Ret) of St. Augustine, has been honored with a mobility-equipped 2021 Ford F150 XLT truck in gratitude for his service to the United States military.  The recognition was bestowed on Long through donations to the independent nonprofit organization “Wounded Warriors Family Support”.  Long was deployed to Afghanistan where he served on active duty from 2009-12. On December 21, 2010, he stepped on a 40-pound Improvised Explosive Device while he was conducting a foot patrol in preparations of relocating his unit.  The extent of his injuries was “severe” according to first reports. However, before reaching home, his family was told the chances of his survival were “extremely slim”.

Major tragedy averted, IED on highway defused in Srinagar Srinagar, Feb 22 (UNI) A majority tragedy was averted after security forces detected and defused a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted on the Pantha Chowk-Baramulla highway in the outskirts of Srinagar on Monday, when train service was resumed after remaining suspended for about a year due to COVID-19. A senior police officer told reporters that a joint Road Opening Party (ROP) of Army, police and CRPF during a routine patrolling noticed a bag on the highway at Kanihama in the outskirts of Srinagar this morning. He said traffic on the highway between Pantha Chowk to Nowgam was halted as a precautionary measure.
