April 2021 284 Hamad International Airport (HIA), through MATAR, the Qatar Company for Airports Management and Operation, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) to develop and modernise the airport’s facilities by implementing effective methods of waste management.   The MoU outlines the collaboration between MATAR and MME for the management of different types of waste from HIA to the MME’s Domestic Solid Waste Management Centre (DSWMC). The objectives of the MoU include the development of an integrated system for waste separation, safe transportation, recycling and disposal of waste, and the promotion of environmental awareness and culture of sustainability at HIA.

PMC cancels unfilled enhanced quota seats Islamabad April 12, 2021 Islamabad : The Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) has cancelled the unfilled enhanced quota seats in the countrywide government medical colleges and announced that it won t register students enrolled for them. According to the regulator for medical education in the country, 594 enhanced seats for various quotas in 33 public sector medical colleges were required to be filled by March 22. The development comes following the failure of the provincial governments to produce the lists of students admitted on 594 enhanced seats for various quotas, especially the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Scholarship Programme for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa s tribal districts and Balochistan.
