Former TV news anchor Nadine Woodward is running for mayor of Spokane.
SPOKANE, Wash. Mayor Nadine Woodward will give her annual State of the City address on Wednesday afternoon.
Woodward is set to address the difficulty of the past year and the challenges the city has faced as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

SPOKANE, Wash. Spokane Mayor Nadine Woodward wrote a letter to Gov. Inslee outlining a proposal for Phase 3 a plan collaborated on by 20 elected officials in the East Region.
Washington residents are understandably restless in nearly a full year of COVID restrictions, and many are looking to Gov. Inslee and the Department of Health to provide guidance on moving to the next phase of the Healthy Washington recovery plan.
On Thursday, Washington State Senate Republicans drafted a proposal of their own, calling for immediate K-12 returns to school and 50% capacity at venues across the board, which the Governor’s Office slammed in a response.
She had previously tweeted at him asking to move Phase 2 up to Sunday. Can you show some love to our struggling restaurants by allowing them to open this weekend for Valentine’s Day? Woodward wrote in a tweet directed at Inslee. Business in this industry drops like a rock after the holiday and they could really use the extra help. THANK YOU!
Inslee said during his press conference on Thursday that he would consider allowing restaurants to reopen for Valentine s Day but did not give a definitive answer.
Woodward also issued the following statement on Thursday about the East region advancing to Phase 2:
