JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - The Jonesboro City Council passed two resolutions Tuesday night regarding the Veterans Village and a potential homeless shelter.
The council unanimously passed a resolution to enter a contract with Olympus Construction to build the state’s first Veterans Village Community Center.
We shared a few weeks ago that the city got a $250,000 donation from the Attorney General’s office to go towards the project.
Free Mass COVID-19 Vaccine Event (1st Dose)
Northeast Arkansas residents who are in the ADH approved vaccination categories - including the new group of anyone age 65 or older - and are interested in receiving a COVID-19 vaccine will have the opportunity to do so on Saturday, March 6.
The City of Jonesboro, the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce, Arkansas State University, NEA Baptist Health System, NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine at A-State, St. Bernards Healthcare and UAMS, in partnership with the Arkansas Department of Health, are collaborating to host and staff a mass vaccination event for the region that will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 6 at First National Bank Arena, located at 217 Olympic Drive on the A-State campus.

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - The City of Jonesboro and Craighead County are teaming up with Arkansas State for a free COVID-19 vaccine clinic.
The event was held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at the First National Bank Arena, 217 Olympic Dr., on the A-State campus.
According to Thursday’s news release, the clinic will be open to Northeast Arkansas residents who are:
65 and older
Educators, including those employed by K-12, child care, and higher education institutions
