In a news release by the Prince Albert Catholic School Division on Tuesday evening the division explained that communication has been shared with the specific classrooms/cohorts, as well as the school community. The case was not school acquired. “The Saskatchewan Health Authority is proceeding with their assessment of the situation and all individuals deemed to be close contacts will be provided instructions.”

COVID case at École St Mary High School

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) has identified a positive COVID-19 case in an individual who attended École St. Mary High School in Prince Albert. Communication has been shared with the specific classroom(s)/cohort(s), as well as the school community. SHA is proceeding with their assessment of the cases and all individuals deemed to be close contacts have been provided instructions. According to a media release the case is not school acquired and the Prince Albert Catholic School Division wanted to reassure families that school resumed Wednesday, May 5, 2021 for in-person classes. To protect privacy, the details are not able to be discussed. The individuals impacted by this case have been notified and provided with instructions. The students and families will be receiving updates using the Edsby platform.

Close contacts have been notified, as have the school community. “We want to reassure families of École St. Mary High School that the school will continue to operate for in-person classes while maintaining the safety protocols that are in place,” the Catholic School Division said in a media release on Saturday. “To protect privacy, we are not able to share or discuss details.” –
