Charenton man dies in Sunday morning crash

A Charenton man died early Sunday in a crash on La. 87, troopers say.
Alvin Joseph Trosclair III, 50, died in the single-vehicle crash, troopers say.
The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as Trosclair was driving east on LA 87 in a 1994 Ford Pickup. For unknown reasons, Trosclairâs vehicle ran off the roadway to the right. After leaving the roadway, the Ford overturned and struck a tree causing Trosclair to be ejected from the vehicle.
Trosclair was unrestrained at the time of the crash. He pronounced deceased at the scene by the St. Mary Parish Coronerâs Office. Impairment is unknown but a standard toxicology sample was obtained for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.

A New Iberia woman has died following a Sunday night crash in St. Mary Parish.
State Police say Jackie Marie Brown, 41, died in the 8 p.m. crash on La. 182 near La. 670.
The preliminary investigation revealed Brown was driving a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV west on LA 182. At the same time, a 2007 Cadillac SRX SUV was traveling east on LA 182. For reasons still under investigation, Brownâs SUV crossed the center line and struck the Cadillac head-on in the eastbound lane of travel.
Seatbelt usage on the part of Brown is unknown; she was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Mary Parish Coronerâs Office. The driver of the Cadillac was not properly restrained and was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. Toxicology samples were taken from both drivers and results are pending. This crash remains under investigation.
New Iberia Woman Dies In Crash
Louisiana State Police officials say, via press release, that a 41-year-old New Iberia woman died after her vehicle crossed the center line of Louisiana Highway 182 in St. Mary Parish Sunday night around 8 o clock.
For reasons that investigators do not know, Jackie Marie Brown s Hyundai Sante Fe crossed the center of Highway 182 near the area of Louisiana Highway 670, and she was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Louisiana State Police Spokesman Trooper Thomas Gossen says that according to investigators, Brown s vehicle hit head on with another vehicle coming from the opposite direction on Highway 182.
