North East trooper Seizes Cocaine and Gun on traffic stop in Cecil County

On May 1, 2021 at about 1:20 AM, a trooper from the Maryland State Police North East Barrack was on patrol on US 40/Pulaski Highway in the area of Ephrata Avenue in Elkton, Maryland. At that time the trooper stopped a white Kia four-door sedan for an equipment violation. Upon contacting the operator of the Kia, who was the only occupant and later identified as Avery Glover 31 y.o. of Newark Delaware, the trooper could see in plain view clear baggies of what appeared to be a white powdery substance.
ELKTON â A woman allegedly torched her home near Elkton on Thursday afternoon, gutting the house and displacing herself and three other adults who lived there, according to the Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal.
No one was injured in the swiftly-spreading blaze â but one of the occupants made a narrow escape from the burning house, with the help of a man who was performing gutter work on a house diagonally across the street in the unit block of Cherry Lane, a short distance off Fletchwood, northeast of Elkton, fire officials reported.
A responding Cecil County Sheriffâs Office deputy spotted the woman who allegedly set the fire, as she was walking on the street a short distance away from the burning house, and detained her, fire officials said. As of late Thursday afternoon, fire officials added, MOSFM detectives were interviewing that woman at the Maryland State Police North East Barrack.

ELKTON â Investigators have filed arson and attempted murder charges against a woman who allegedly torched her occupied home near Elkton on Thursday afternoon, gutting the house and displacing herself and three other adults who lived there, according to the Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal.
Charging documents allege that the suspect â Gail J. Metwally, 47 â remained on the property and watched for several minutes after intentionally setting fire to the house in the unit block of Cherry Lane, which is a short distance away from Fletchwood Road, northeast of Elkton.
âVideo footage and witness statements provided that Metwally set fire within the dwelling and then retreated to the front yard. She then sat down on a chair and watched the fire progress. She is observed saying, âHasta-la-vista, Bitch,â in one of the videos while the fire is observed within the dwelling,â court records allege.
Maryland State Police Arrest Cecil County Man On Child Pornography Charges

(ELKTON, MD) – Troopers arrested and charged a Cecil County man early Monday morning after a Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigation developed evidence supporting charges of distribution and possession of child pornography.
The suspect is identified as William Burroughs, 27, of Elkton, Maryland. Burroughs is charged with six counts of distribution of child pornography and six counts of possession of child pornography. He was transported to the Maryland State Police North East Barrack for processing.
Beginning in October 2020, the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit initiated an investigation into the distribution and possession of child pornography online. At about 6:50 a.m. this morning, Maryland State Police, assisted by the FBI Maryland Child Exploitation Task Force and the Elkton Police Department, served a search warrant at the identified
