With COVID-19 restrictions being lifted across the state and with St. Patrick’s Day coming up on Wednesday, Maryland State Police are urging those who plan to celebrate with alcohol to be safe and smart and avoid impaired, distracted and aggressive driving.
With an increase in impaired drivers expected throughout the state the next two weekends, state police will be conducting saturation patrols at each of the 23 barracks focusing on impaired, aggressive and distracted driving. Enforcement over the next two weeks will be bolstered by impaired driving saturation patrol funds from the Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration’s Highway Safety Office.
Maryland State Police Arrest Cecil County Man On Child Pornography Charges

(ELKTON, MD) – Troopers arrested and charged a Cecil County man early Tuesday morning after a Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigation developed evidence supporting charges of distribution and possession of child pornography.
The suspect is identified as Jacob Rubinstein, 41, of Elkton, Maryland. Rubinstein is charged with seven counts of distribution of child pornography and 12 counts of possession of child pornography. He was transported to the Maryland State Police North East Barrack for processing.
Beginning in September, the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit conducted an investigation into the distribution and possession of child pornography online.
