The budget revealed that the pandemic’s devastating effect on oil prices caused a collapse in Alberta’s revenues, with the province’s debt set to balloon to $115.8 billion. The Calgary Herald has the story. The provincial government is expecting an $18.2 billion deficit for 2021, followed by an $11 billion deficit in 2022 and an $8 billion deficit in 2023.
