Shrewbury actor to star in `Midsummer Night’s Dream

Shrewsbury resident Will Stewich will star in the Western Connecticut State University Department of Theatre Arts s production of William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” part of the Spring Virtual Production Series, directed and adapted by Pam McDaniel. The production will stream April 30 and May 9.
The series comprises four productions that will be broadcast twice over two weekends spanning April 29, through May 9. A ticket to each performance date will allow the purchaser to access the show over the course of 24 hours that day.
Streaming on Thursday, April 29, and Saturday, May 8, is “SWEAT” by Lynn Nottage, directed by Tim Howard. “SWEAT” tells the story of a group of friends who have spent their lives sharing drinks, secrets and laughs while working together on the factory floor.

Western Connecticut State University senior Bakhtawar Izzat and recent graduate Isaac Jean-Pierre have been named recipients of this year s Henry Barnard Distinguished Student Award for outstanding academic achievement and engagement in service and other activities in the university, regional and global communities.

Izzat, of Bethel, is a candidate this May to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Business Administration, maintaining a GPA in a range of 3.92 to 4.0. Jean-Pierre, of Norwalk, earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Management in December, graduating magna cum laude with a GPA of 3.87.
