Hendersonville Mayor Barbara Volk and City Manager John Connet will welcome residents and their questions about the city during the third monthly Coffee with the Mayor gathering Tuesday, July 20 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Doors open at 9 a.m.
Coffee with the Mayor will be held at the Center for Art & Entertainment at 125 S. Main St., Hendersonville. The event is free with reservations by calling 828-697-8547 or emailing info@thecenterae.org. A complimentary coffee bar will be provided.

(The Charlotte Observer) - A former Catholic ministry leader at Western Carolina University in the North Carolina mountains sexually abused a student for years in the 1980s, according to a lawsuit the former student filed on Tuesday against his alleged abuser and the Charlotte Catholic Diocese.
On Friday, the diocese issued a statement that it “has zero-tolerance for child sexual abuse, and we continue to encourage anyone who has been the victim of abuse to seek help and report to authorities.”
