He was standing outside about 8:15 p.m. in the 2300 block of West Garfield Boulevard, when someone opened fire, striking him in the leg, Chicago police said. The teen took himself to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in good condition. Two people were wounded in a shooting in an apartment building in Park Manor on the South Side. The shooting happened about 5:50 p.m. in the Lafayette Plaza Housing Cooperative at 50 W. 71st St., according to police. A 37-year-old woman was standing in the lobby when she was shot in the chest by someone standing outside the building. She was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.
