Western Kentucky State Fair Board President Kent Boyd said attendance at this yearâs fair reached 40,974, topping attendance numbers that he said were in the lower 30,000s two years ago, in 2019.
Last yearâs event was canceled due to COVID-19, one of the hardest decisions that Boyd said heâs ever been a part of making.
The financial loss in 2020 made it difficult. But Boyd said the board got through it, and he noted that the 2021 event was fantastic.
âEverybody loves the fair,â he said, observing that the nine-day event did exceptionally well this year, with everyone wanting to get out and do something.
