1966 48 Monk McQueen Coho Pilothouse M/V LADY DIANNE
Description:
Ed Monk, Sr. and George McQueen collaborated on this design, and their unique combined talents created this exceptional Northwest Trawler. Construction began in 1966 at McQueen Boat Works in Vancouver, BC. The hull was completed and shipped overland to the Toronto Shipyards where the vessel was finished out and completed in 1969. During the completion in Toronto, Ed Monk Sr. stayed in contact as a consultant. All of the original documentation and correspondence over construction between builder, designer and owner are available. The carvel planks were miter cut with a cedar strip glued in then faired to smooth finish using Alaskan Yellow and Western Red Cedar over White Oak Frames. She is loaded with redundant navigation electronics, systems management panels, engine and mechanical spares and many other features. Every system is well designed; modern rebuilt engines, copper containment pans, batteries in lined box
