Police looking for answers in Gastonia fatal hit and run

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Gastonia Police are investigating a fatal hit and run that happened early Christmas Eve.
Police were called out to the area of Edgewood Road and West Franklin Boulevard around 5:50 a.m.
There, they found James Marshall Nichols, 33 of Kings Mountain, had been struck. He died on scene.
Investigators believe the suspect vehicle is possibly a 2005-2010 black Jeep Grand Cherokee with front end damage. Anyone with information to help the investigation is asked to call the Gastonia Police Department Traffic Unit at 704-866-6702.
