Mina Topley-Bird, daughter of trip hop star Tricky and singer Martina Topley-Bird, died at West Park Hospital, in Darlington in May 2019. County Durham coroner James Thompson held a pre-inquest review at Crook Civic Centre where he decided that the full hearing at the end of March should be before a jury. Tees Esk and Wear Valleys Mental Health Services, which runs West Park Hospital, carried out a sudden untoward incident investigation following her death.
