Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], May 25 (ANI): Over 11.5 lakh people have been evacuated from vulnerable places in West Bengal on Tuesday in view of the impending cyclone Yaas, informed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

New Delhi: At least two persons were electrocuted and almost 80 houses were damaged in Hooghly and North 24 Parganas districts of West Bengal due to strong winds and heavy rainfall on Tuesday (May 25) at the onset of cyclone Yaas.
Briefing the media persons at state secretariat Nabanna , West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, In view of Cyclone Yaas, 11.5 lakh people have been evacuated. In the impact of the strong winds, 40 houses were damaged in Halisahar with 4-5 people sustained injuries. 40 houses were damaged in Chuchura. Unfortunately, two people have died due to lightning in Pandua.

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], May 24 (ANI): West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar and the West Bengal government are again at loggerheads after Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Kalyan Banerjee launched a scathing attack on the governor and urged people to file a complaint against him.
Speaking to the media personnel on Sunday, Banerjee alleged that the West Bengal Governor has directly transferred the case (Narada) to CBI, which is against the Constitution. We know we cannot file a criminal case against him. We are urging people to register a complaint against him to the concerned police station wherever the governor is provocating the crimes and violence, Banerjee said.
