The incident comes to light, a few days after senior leaders alleged that many of the BJP party workers have been tortured, thrashed and even raped in West Bengal after the results were announced on May 2.
The social media is overwhelmed with the images and footage of after poll violence in West Bengal. While many visuals show some houses or vehicles on fire, others narrate the horror of violence in the state.
Meanwhile, following various reports on the incidents, the Centre has sought a detailed report from the newly-elected West Bengal government on post-poll violence in the State.
Earlier, PM Narendra Modi also called West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar to enquire about the situation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today called up West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar and expressed anguish over the law and order situation in the state following reports of post-poll violence from several districts.
PIL seeks deployment of central forces
A PIL in the Supreme Court on Tuesday sought a direction to the Centre to deploy central forces for restoration of law and order in West Bengal.
Describing the law and order situation in the state as “alarmingly worrisome”, Dhankhar tweeted: “I share grave concerns given that violence vandalism, arson, loot and killings continue unabated. Concerned must act in overdrive to restore order.”

West Bengal Governor urges Mamata Banerjee to restore rule of law in state after administering oath
West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Wednesday urged newly re-appointed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to take all steps to restore rule of law in the state. The remarks came moments after the TMC chief was sworn in at the Raj Bhavan in the presence of top party leaders and a few other well known personalities. I congratulate Mamata Ji on her third term. Our priority is that we must bring an end to this senseless violence that has affected society at large, the Governor was quoted as saying, adding that he was certain Banerjee would take action on an urgent basis.
