Kolkata: West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Friday raised concern over Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee s reference to her relations with non-Bengali bureaucrats in a bid to woo Hindi-speaking voters ahead of the assembly elections due in April-May. Banerjee, while interacting with Hindi-speakers at the TMC headquarters on Thursday, had said that many of her officers like DGP Virendra, former chief secretary Rajiva Sinha and former Kolkata Police commissioner Rajeev Kumar are from other states and they share excellent relations with her.

Kolkata: West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Friday visited former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly at Apollo hospital. Speaking to the media, Dhankhar stated that Ganguly is âstableâ and also that following medical parameters Ganguly is likely to be released from hospital on Sunday. âDada is stable, and if conditions are favorable he will be released from hospital on Sunday,â mentioned Dhankhar. According to medical reports, Sourav Ganguly was diagnosed with three blocked coronary arteries, and a stent was inserted into one to remove the blockage.

KOLKATA: West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Monday called for making all efforts to empower voters, ensure their safety and do away with an atmosphere of fear. Maintaining that the state can flourish only when democracy blossoms, Dhankhar said in a message on the National Voters Day that absence of political neutrality would be culpable, leading to consequences.
