: Tuesday, December 22, 2020, 12:41 AM IST BJP will struggle to cross double digits in 2021 West Bengal election: Poll analyst Prashant Kishor Kolkata After Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his recent visit to West Bengal said the saffron camp will win over 200 seats in the state Assembly poll, election strategist Prashant Kishor on Monday took to twitter and claimed the BJP will struggle to cross the double-digit mark and he would leave the social media site if the saffron camp does better than his prediction. Kishor, the poll strategist of the BJP during the 2014 LS election, has been roped in by TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee to strengthen her party’s poll prospects. “For all the hype amplified by a section of supportive media, in reality BJP will struggle to cross double digits in West Bengal. Please save this tweet and if BJP does any better I must quit this space,” Kishor tweeted.

Adhikari, who joined BJP in the presence of Union home minister Amit Shah on Saturday, has already given up membership of the Trinamool Congress and the ministerial position in the state cabinet. Banerjee, who had on Friday clarified that Adhikari s resignation was not accepted since it was not in conformity with provisions of the Constitution and rules of the assembly, said that after speaking to him, he is satisfied that the former transport minister quit out of his own volition. The speaker said the undated resignation letter of Adhikari, which he submitted on December 16, was accepted with effect from December 21.

Shah will start his trip to poll-bound Bengal with a visit to Ramakrishna Mission Ashram. He is also scheduled to meet a farmer family and have lunch with them. On the first day, he will address a public rally at Midnapore College ground in Paschim Medinipur district.
