Police apprehend York County fugitive in carport after chase across Pennsylvania Turnpike Shelly Stallsmith, York Daily Record AP Top Stories January 25 UP NEXT A Jackson Township man wanted by West Manchester Township Police for more than a week was apprehended Monday in Fairview Township. Police have been looking for Shane Eckert, 40, since he fled a Jan. 16 incident in the 1400 block of Kenneth Road. Officers learned Eckert was a state parole violator who was wanted for fleeing supervision when they pulled him over earlier this month. © West Manchester Township Police Department Shane Eckert Police said Eckert drove away from the traffic stop, dragging an officer for a short distance in the process. He was charged with aggravated assault, fleeing or attempting to elude officer and other lesser offenses.

Democrats in the Senate began protesting and in some cases shouting after the Republican majority refused to seat Sen. Jim Brewster of Allegheny County. His election was certified by the state but is being contested by Republican challenger Nicole Ziccarelli. The fight followed weeks of President Donald Trump challenging President-elect Joe Biden’s victory in Pennsylvania with baseless allegations of fraud and lawsuits that have repeatedly lost in the courts.
