May is Michigan Wine Month.
Courtney Sheffer from the West Michigan Tourist Association has the details in this week’s What’s Happening in Northern Michigan.
Shady Lane Cellars – Wine Social Shady Lane Cellars in Suttons Bay has their annual Wine Social coming up on May 29th, where you’ll be treated to small bites and wine pairings accompanied by live music. They’ll have socially-distanced wine and food stations set up in their beautiful outdoor space, making this a great way to kick off your Memorial Weekend. You’ll want to contact Shady Lane Cellars ahead of time to reserve your space for this event.

Rosé all May on Leelanau Peninsula
The
Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail is kicking off their 2021 season with “Rosé All May:” a month-long event inviting you to explore the many rosé wines offered in the area. Once you buy your ticket, you’ll get a souvenir glass to take to any of the 21 wineries on the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail, and sample a glass of their rosé. You have all month to enjoy the various rosés, which range from dry to sweet, including both sparkling and still varieties. You’re welcome to make reservations ahead of time at any of the wineries you’ll be visiting to help allow for social distancing.

The Lake Michigan Circle Tour covers four states and 105 lighthouses - and will also lead travelers to miles of beaches, quaint harbor towns, parks and natural areas, unique attractions and across the Mackinac Bridge.
The tour includes West Michigan favorites like the Holland Harbor Lighthouse and Big Sable Lighthouse in Ludington along with Upper Peninsula beauties like the Peninsula Point Lighthouse in Bay de Noc Township. It also takes motorists to more than 30 Wisconsin lighthouses, eight Illinois lights and seven in Indiana.
