Armed police swarmed Cookley street
Kimberlee Avenue was blocked off while police were at the scene in Elm Place on Tuesday afternoon. Photo from Google Maps ARMED officers and police dogs were seen in a street in Cookley yesterday after reports were received about concerns for a person s welfare. Police were called to Elm Place shortly after midday on Tuesday, February 2 after receiving a call about concerns for a person s safety. Kimberlee Avenue was closed while armed officers were at the scene and residents reported seeing police dogs and a riot officer with a shield. A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: This was in attendance to a concern for safety, the situation was resolved safely.

A man in his 50s was taken to hospital after falling on a bank near Shrewsbury today.

The man fell on a bank at Squinter Pip Way, Bowbrook, this morning and emergency services were called.
Jamie Arrowsmith of West Midlands Ambulance Service said: We were called at 10.07am to reports of a patient who had fallen on a bank in Squinter Pip Way. We sent one ambulance and a paramedic officer. On arrival we discovered one patient, a man. He was treated for injuries not believed to be serious and was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for further assessment.
