Seven police officers had to restrain a druggie intruder who got inside an elderly woman s home. They descended on Ripon Avenue, in Chesterton, after the man ran inside the property.

Thirteen men have been detained by police after they were found in the back of a lorry on the M6. Officers were called to the scene on the M6 northbound at Hilton Services, in Walsall, at around 2.30pm yesterday following reports of people found in a lorry.

A woman had to be taken to hospital after she was rescued from a fire at a Stoke-on-Trent house.
Pic: Google A MAN has been arrested after a car drove over gardens, hit other cars and collided with a telegraph pole in a crash in Halesowen. The 45-year-old was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a Land Rover Discovery was driven across gardens in Hurst Green Road and hit a number of other vehicles at around 3.40pm on Sunday (December 13). It is understood a woman in her 80s in one of the cars was hurt but her injuries are not believed to be serious. A spokesman for West Midlands Police said the man, who was arrested later that evening, has been questioned by officers and released pending further enquiries.

Medics battled to save two people killed in a horror smash in Solihull over the weekend.
Two people were found in the back of the Merceded A200 which collided with a wall on Warwick Road in the early hours of yesterday (Sunday December 13).
