Kind Colley Gate shop owners fund £2k defib

Surinder Kaur and husband Gurdev Singh, who is known as Dave, of Windmill Supermarket on Windmill Hill paid for the defib to be installed at Cradley Community Centre as a gift to the community for supporting the shop over the last four decades. The community centre on Colley Lane had set about raising funds for the equipment by holding a series of table top sales and inviting people to donate prizes for tombolas

Redditch student calls end to e-scooter trial after being hospitalised due to faulty breaks

A LAW student who was hospitalised for two-weeks after falling off an e-scooter with ‘faulty brakes has called for an end to the trial in Redditch. Maheera Tammana, of Southcrest, described the incident which happened on Jinnah Road near Asda and B&Q, as the scariest time of her life. The 23-year-old was riding one of the e-scooters from Bird, the operators running the current trial of the vehicles in the town, on July 3. She said the brakes wouldn t work as she tried to avoid hitting into a car. This caused her to fall off the e-scooter, which snapped her ankle in half
