WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) A Lake County judge on Tuesday denied Indiana s motion to dismiss a lawsuit by West Lafayette Community School Corporation and two other school districts.
As News 18 previously reported, the lawsuit challenges a state law requiring public school corporations to lease unused school buildings to charter schools for $1.
The school corporation is worried the former Happy Hollow Elementary School could be leased under the law.
Major renovation at West Lafayette Public Library starting in January
This is the first time this library building is getting an update since it was built back in 2003.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The West Lafayette Public Library Board is moving forward with finalizing plans for major reconstruction project. This is the first time this library building is getting an update since it was built back in 2003. This is especially exciting because 2020 marks 100 years of the West Lafayette Public Library in this community.
Leaders at the WLPL said they need more space. Since the start of the pandemic, they said that more and more people are taking advantage of the library resources. Whether it be checking out a book, using the free internet for work, or bringing kids to a safe environment, the pandemic is not slowed people down despite modified hours.
