West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey said the American worker is getting "squeezed" by President Biden’s "hypocritical" energy policies that benefit U.S. adversaries like China and Russia.

Morgantown City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to create a civilian police review board, the culmination of a year-long process sparked by the murder of George Floyd, a Black man, at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer. In the wake of Floyd’s murder and nationwide protests, Morgantown city officials and community members started to talk about how their city could benefit from a police board with civilian members. The city formed a special committee and it began meeting weekly to hash out the proposal’s details.

Morgantown police officers seek to stop city from creating illegal review board

MORGANTOWN – The group of police officers are asking a Monongalia Circuit Judge to stop the City of Morgantown from adopting an ordinance creating a Civilian Police Review and Advisory Board. The petition was filed May 19 by the Monongalia-Preston Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 87 on behalf of its members. The filing took place just hours after Morgantown City Council passed the ordinance that would create the board. The FOP says the new board is illegal and unnecessary because the city already has a Civil Service Commission. Morrisey, other AGs call for Biden to support additional energy infrastructure

CHARLESTON West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey has joined a coalition of 19 attorneys general in calling upon President Joe Biden to support additional energy infrastructure following the Colonial pipeline shutdown, which caused price spikes, fuel shortages and lines at gasoline stations across southern and eastern states. The coalition, in a letter sent May 17, detailed what it called the harm caused by Biden’s efforts to cancel the Keystone XL pipeline and urged him to put Americans’ national security and the environment first. “Americans depend upon safe and secure energy supplies, which is why we must build and maintain robust energy infrastructure that is resilient in the face of accidents and sabotage,” Morrisey joined in writing. “A temporary shutdown of one pipeline’s full-capacity operations shouldn’t bring half the country to the brink.

AG s office shuts down Northern Panhandle plumber accused of ripping off customers

CHARLESTON West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey s office recently won a lawsuit that prohibits a Northern Panhandle plumbing contractor from doing any future home improvement work.  The court order permanently blocks Charles P. Waterman and his company, Waterman Plumbing LLC, from engaging in any capacity of plumbing or contracting work. It also requires Waterman to pay $14,133.72 in restitution. The lawsuit had alleged Waterman violated the state’s consumer protection laws by accepting thousands of dollars for deficient and unfinished work. Morrisey “Contractors who don’t follow the law must be stopped,” Morrisey said in a statement. “Consumers deserve to get the services they pay for in a timely manner and satisfactory condition. Our office works vigorously to investigate complaints in hopes of weeding out bad actors to increase trust and confidence in the countless other contractors who perform admirably.”
